Hi there! It's me, the Ex Gambler, and I am a recovering gambling addict. I know first-hand the devastating effects that addiction can have on a person's life. I lost everything I had because of my addiction, including my family, friends, and even my freedom due to my criminal record. However, I am now in recovery and working to turn my life around. I am starting this blog not only to share my story but also to make friends along the way and support each other! This blog won't only focus on addiction, but also motivation and the power of human connection.
I want to use my experience to help others who may be struggling with addiction. Whether it's gambling, drugs, alcohol, or any other addiction, I am here to offer support and motivation to those in need. Let's overcome and conquer together.
Addiction can be a difficult and lonely journey, but it's important to remember that you are not alone. There are many resources available to help you, and the first step is admitting that you have a problem and seeking help.
Although I am not an addiction expert, I have done several research and want to share the tools that have helped me in my recovery journey. One tool that I will be trying in the next couple of weeks is meditation. Meditation allows you to quiet your mind, focus on the present moment, and let go of negative thoughts and emotions. This can be especially useful when dealing with the stress and anxiety that often come with addiction.
In addition to meditation, there are many other resources available for addiction recovery, such as support groups, counselling, and rehabilitation programs. It's essential to find the right resources for you and to stick with them, even when it gets difficult.
Remember, recovery is a journey, and there may be setbacks along the way. But it's important to stay positive, take it one day at a time, and focus on the progress you've made.
You are not defined by your addiction, and you can overcome it with the right tools, support, and mindset. Don't be afraid to reach out for help, and know that you are not alone. You are still worthy! In my next post, I will be sharing my story. It's a real doozy, so stay tuned. Just sitting here typing, I see as a miracle. My battle is only starting. Let's fight together and overcome!
